Building on the success of the One Year Plan, we are putting in place solid foundations for the future. Sheffield is a City of many strengths, but it also faces challenges. As the whole country responds to the economic climate we are working hard to support our residents who are feeling the effects of the cost of living crisis. We know that Sheffield is an unequal City with nearly 140,000 Sheffielders living in areas that are of the 10% most deprived nationally, and we are proud of the work we are doing to deploy our resources to maximum effect and to provide high quality services to all.

As a Council, we are taking bold strides to modernise and improve the Council. The One Year Plan helped to focus everyone within the organisation towards a clear set of goals, and we are working hard to develop a clear plan to guide us to our future. We aspire to be a good council that delivers high quality services for all. This means that as an employer and leader in the city, we need to aspire to be an outstanding organisation; a council that all Elected Members, staff and citizens are proud of. We want Sheffielders in every part of the city to be able to access consistently high-quality council services when and where they need them.

We have developed a new set of values in response to the Race Equality Commission report and we are building a leadership team with an enterprising and collaborative approach.
