We are aiming to deliver one of the boldest and most forward-thinking digital transformations in local government – and this is your opportunity to lead it. As Director of ICT and Digital Innovation, you will steer the delivery of our city-wide Digital Strategy and shape Sheffield City Council in becoming a truly Digital Council. You’ll lead an essential corporate function that touches everything: from customer experience to AI-powered service delivery, from cyber security to digital inclusion, from cloud platforms to community empowerment.

This is a high-impact, highly visible role. Reporting directly into the Chief Operating Officer, and as part corporate leadership team, you will need to bring strong digital leadership, strategic clarity and a deep understanding of how to build people-centred digital services. We are not looking for someone to just ‘keep the lights on’. We are looking for a transformational leader who can build future-ready digital infrastructure, champion data-informed decision-making, and embed innovation at the heart of our services. And you will help us make sure the whole city benefits from our ambitious digital agenda.

You will also be the Council’s Senior Information Risk Owner, playing a critical role in protecting our digital estate, ensuring resilience, and enabling safe adoption of emerging technology. This is a chance to make a measurable difference to Sheffield’s people, places, and prosperity.

We are looking for a digital leader with a proven track record of leading complex ICT services and delivering change at scale. You will be passionate about digital inclusion, proactive in forming partnerships, and fully committed to building an agile, skilled, and inclusive workforce. You’ll bring strategic insight, creativity, financial acumen and operational grip, and you will be ready to seize the opportunities the next five years of digital disruption will offer.
