Thank you for your interest in joining
Sheffield City Council
Sheffield is a city with a remarkable story to tell and an ambitious future ahead, and as Director of People and Organisational Culture I am delighted to introduce this new role.
We are working to bring together the right blend of expertise to support our ambition, changing how the Council works so we can build a modern, trusted organisation that makes for a more connected, capable and forward-looking organisation, with stronger alignment between our people, culture and ways of working and what we want to achieve for the city.
The Head of Organisational Development will play a pivotal role in this. This is a new function for the organisation, and the opportunity to shape it is significant. You will be joining at a moment where we are strengthening the foundations of how we work, connecting leadership, culture, organisational design, workforce planning and performance into a more coherent and purposeful approach.
Working closely with me and colleagues across the Corporate Leadership Team, you will help ensure that our transformation is not only well designed, but embedded in a way that is practical, consistent and sustainable. Your work will be central to building organisational clarity and capability at a time when there is real momentum behind improving how we operate and deliver.
We are not starting from a blank page, but there is still significant work to do to bring greater alignment, strengthen leadership approach, and build the systems and frameworks that will support long-term change. Organisational Development will sit at the heart of that journey, helping to connect ambition with delivery and ensuring that change is meaningful and lasting.
We are seeking an experienced visible leader, who can influence at an executive level, who is respected in their field, who can build effective relationships, brings credibility and who is motivated by the opportunity to make a tangible difference at scale. In return, you will join a supportive and collaborative team, with the opportunity to shape a new function, influence organisation-wide change, and play a defining role in how we move forward.
I very much look forward to meeting you.
