As the city continues to grow and flourish, we now need talented, ambitious and forward-thinking leaders to make sure Sheffield can continue to meet the needs of its thriving population, today and in the future.
Like many other local authorities, Sheffield City Council has undergone significant change over the past few years – a transition that coincided with the immense challenges Sheffield and the rest of the country faced during the Covid-19 pandemic. As we emerge from this period of adversity and hardship, our priority is to drive positive momentum in the city and continue to deliver our impressive programme of community-transforming projects.
In 2021, Sheffield’s people voted to change the way the Council operates from a cabinet system to a committee system via a referendum. This provided us with an opportunity for us to re-assess how we were governing our city to better represent everyone who lives here. We recently published our 2022/23 Delivery Plan, the start of a four-year process to transform the Council – you can read more about this and everything else we’re doing through the ‘About Sheffield City Council’.
